Sisters' Childcare Services started in 1996 with only two
children. Since that time we have become licensed as a small
family/daycare center. We use that term because we never want your
child to feel as if they are in an institutional environment. Our
aim is to have a family environment home learning center so our
children will feel at home.
We feel that education
is very important. We have taken it upon ourselves to improve our
children with the best preschool programs that we can offer. All of
the providers at this center have enrolled in the Child Development
programs offered at the local college and received their
certification. Our director/owner has an Associate's Degree in
Business Education, Applied Sciences for Early Childhood Education,
and her Credentials for Early Childhood Education. She served on
the WTCC advisory board and currently serves on the Smart Start
Board of Wake County. She is a trainer for UNC-TV, Ag in the
Classroom, Be Active Kids, and serves as the program coordinator for
the Family Child Care Association (FCCA) of Wake County.
Our center has
participated in the following training through the state:
Early Childhood
Credential I and II
Food Program
Playground Safety
Advanced School - Age Care Training
CPR & First Aid Classes (yearly)
UNC-TV Training
Smart Start
Ag in the classroom (NC Agriculture Department)
We are members of the
National Association for the Education of Young Children and the
FCCA of Wake County. These associations have developed standards to
define and recognize quality care programs. At SCCS we feel that
these guidelines will greatly help us to provide developmentally
appropriate activities for our children.
